UCAS has established extensive cooperative relationships with over 100 internationally respected universities and institutions, such as Columbia University, University of California, Santa Barbara, école Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Australian National University, the Max Planck Society in Germany, the National Center for Scientific Research in France, the Russian Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Sciences of the United States. A lot of honored guests from afar have visited UCAS including the Nobel laureates such as Mike Spence, Richard R Schrock, Samuel Chao Chung Ting, Steven Chu, the famous scientists such as Kurt Lambeck (President of Australian Academy of Sciences), Alfred Y. Cho, political heavyweights and international celebrities such as Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen, former US President George H.W. Bush, US Secretary of State Henry Alfred Kissinger, former Prime Minister of Australia Kevin Michael Rudd, Singaporean Political Mentor Lee Kuan Yew, Thai Princess Sirindhorn and more.
For the Sino-Danish Research Center for Education and Research (SDC), UCAS, the Danish Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, and the Danish Universities will jointly construct a platform for undertaking educational programs, research activities and exchanging scientific staff to developareas of high importance to the social and economic development of both countries.
UCAS offers a package of international fellowships through different programs to enhance the cultivation of its talented Chinese students, such as China Scholarship Council (CSC) Postgraduate Program, UCAS Joint PhD Training Program, UCAS-GU (Griffith University) Joint Doctoral Program Fellowship, SABIC (Saudi Basic Industries Corporation)–CAS Scholarship Program and UCAS-BHPB Programs.
UCAS also organized various Research Leader Training Programs in collaboration with countries in Latin America and the ASEAN states. At the front line of scientific research in China, the participants have benefited from the expertise of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in such areas as knowledge innovation, R&D ideas, management, output of knowledge and application of achievements.
UCAS offers various scholarships and financial aids to support brilliant International students, including CAS-TWAS President's Fellowship, Chinese Government Scholarship for International Students and UCAS Scholarship for International Students. Currently, there are more than 1000 international students from over 80 countries studying here, among whom about 80% are supported by the above three major scholarships.
International Affairs Office
The International Affairs Office (IAO) was established to facilitate international academic exchanges and collaborations between UCAS and institutions around the world. The IAO's main tasks include promoting international academic collaborations, communicating with partner institutions, establishing joint programs for graduate students, inviting international scholars and recruiting international students, thereby enhancing the internationalization of UCAS, building the campus into an international environment, and promoting UCAS reputation as an outstanding university forgraduate education.
International Students Office
The International Students Office is affiliated with the International Affairs Office. It is in charge of the admission, enrollment and registration of international students, student counseling and management, and scholarship related affairs.
